12th International Rehabilitation Days

The 12th International Rehabilitation Days were held in Rzeszow, Poland on February 20-21, 2020, bringing together rehabilitation doctors, physiotherapists and stakeholders from Poland, Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Germany, Belarus and Ukraine. The conference, entitled Modern Standards and Requirements in Rehabilitation, was held under the auspices of the Rector of Rzeszow University, Professor Sylvester Chopek and the Committee on Rehabilitation, Physical Culture and Social Integration of the Polish Academy of Sciences. Informative and interesting reports, as well as scientific studies were presented.

Our doctors also participated in the conference. In particular, paediatrician Halyna Lun gave a presentation on Changes in motor function in children with cerebral palsy after an intensive neurophysiological rehabilitation course: Blind Study, which was based on an extensive, long-term study conducted by our centre and the Department of Medical Rehabilitation of the I. Ya. Horbachevsky Ternopil State Medical University.

Later, paediatrician Nataliya Hrabarchuk presented a report on the Cultural adaptation and validation of the Ukrainian-language version of the ABILHAND-Kids Questionnaire. The conference organizing committee awarded the authors a special distinction for their research work.

ABILHAND-Kids is a clinical questionnaire for measuring manual ability in children with cerebral palsy aged 6 to 15. It should be filled in by the parents and evaluates 21 daily bimanual items performed by the child.
